Add-on · needs your tracker connected

What's the actual status?

The tracker says one thing. The latest email says another. Making it reconcile the two is something no amount of clicking does for you, and it's where the nasty surprises hide.

Once your Smartsheet is connected, it can read a row and the mail around it, and tell you where they've drifted apart. That gap is usually the thing about to bite you.

The prompt you type

paste this to your assistant
What's the actual status of the kitchen power? Check the tracker first,
then check my mail for anything newer the tracker doesn't know about, and
tell me where they disagree.

What it hands back

Made-up specifics, real shape:

Kitchen power — tracker vs mail

Tracker says: RFI-118 still Open, assigned to the design team, raised three weeks ago.

Your mail says: the design team answered it last Thursday, in a reply to your own thread, with a revised layout attached. The tracker was never updated.

So: this is actually answered, the row is just stale. The revised layout is sitting in your inbox unactioned. Two things to do: pull the answer onto the tracker so it reads true, and get that layout to the electrician, who is waiting on it.

It works the other way too: a row marked Closed that a fresh email has quietly reopened, a due date that's slipped, an action sitting against the wrong person. The point is it catches the drift in both directions.

Why it matters

This one's an add-on. It needs your Smartsheet connected, a one-time setup in the pack (Part 4). Out of the box the assistant can't see your trackers; once it can, "what's the actual status of X" becomes a daily reflex.
